Villa Contessa, a pool Villa in Corfu near Barbati, is an 1800 square meter property overlooking the Ionian Sea. Located in the North Corfu countryside, on the hillside close to Spartillas village, and surrounded by olive trees, is within a short drive to the Barbati beach. Its panoramic position offers views of the surrounding fields and the sea giving a true feeling of nature and serenity. Villa Contessa is split over three levels and can accommodate up to nine people.
Villa Description
The ground floor of the Villa features an ample living room within an open, modern, and well-equipped kitchen and a spacious dining area. The living features two different spots for relaxation with modern, comfortable sofas while there is a great dining table from which you can enjoy your meals with the view of Corfu that reaches Paxos Island. On this floor is one single bedroom and a spacious shower room which both meet all the regulations for people with disabilities. The patios and balconies surrounding the floor give a fantastic view of the garden and the amazing view the property has to offer.
Stairs to the first floor lead to three individually styled and furnished bedrooms, each with access to a balcony with a breathtaking view. The rooms are decorated with carefully chosen and renovated antique pieces that harmoniously combine with modern and elegant furniture. The first room you meet is the master bedroom. The room has one king-size bed and an area with a sofa where you can sit and relax. Two balcony doors allow the light and the view to feel the room and give access to the large balcony. All balconies are framed with safety glass so as not to obscure the view. Continuing, we find a spacious, modern shower room with double washbasins and all the amenities needed. The one twin bedroom with the en-suite bathroom is at the end of the hallway whilst on the other side of the hallway we find the other twin bedroom with the en suite shower room. All the rooms have access to balconies. The decoration with its electric artwork and fresh colors provides a feeling of pleasure and serenity while the facilities and the ample spaces provide all the comfort you need.
On the lower level of the villa is a twin bedroom with an en suite shower room. The bedroom features a seating area and follows the design line of the other rooms. Patios from the bedroom provide access to the garden at the front of the house.
All the rooms are equipped with elegant Coco-Mat mattresses, linen, and bathrobes. The beds in the twin bedrooms can be made into a double bed with a mattress topper on request.
Swimming pool
Imagine relaxing by your own large, private swimming pool, admiring the fabulous panoramic views over the coast of this popular island. Villa Athiri House has a large terrace area with plenty of space, and the brick BBQ and exterior dining area are perfect for enjoying a traditional alfresco meal whilst soaking u this idyllic setting. The terrace and garden are split over 2 levels. The lower level has a private parking area and an attractive walled lawn area whilst the upper level of the terrace has the swimming pool and dining area. The terrace is bordered by Perspex screening so as not to obscure the view.
Surroundings
Shops and restaurants
Spartilas center has a couple of small eateries, a bakery, and a few shops, but the nearest main resort is Barbati, around 5 minutes’ drive North from the Villa. Barbati has a long shingle beach and a good choice of shops and places to eat. The highest point on Corfu, Pantocrator Mountain, is a reasonably short drive up the road and the glorious beaches of the North East coast are at your fingertips.
Beaches
The nearest beach is at Barbati, only a short drive away from Villa Contessa. Watersports and boat hire are available here as well as a few snack bars overlooking the water. Travelling North from Barbati you will find the beach at Nissaki, and further on you can visit the beaches at Kalami, Agios Stefanos, Kerasia, Kassiopi, Almyros, and Roda!
Places to visit
If you can drag yourself away from the swimming pool and glorious views from the villa, you will find some of the most scenic routes and beautiful beaches on the island within half an hour’s drive. The island villages are magical and offer some wonderful sweeping views across the whole island. The highest point of Corfu, Pantocrator Mountain, is within a reasonably short drive and is well worth a visit if only to enjoy the panoramic scenic views from the top- a photographer’s dream!
For the adventurous, there are various beautiful circular routes that you can take visiting the local beauty spots of Agios Stefanos, Kerasia, Kassiopi, and Paleokastritsa before returning along the main road to your villa. Golf facilities and the waterpark in Corfu Town are also within easy reach.
